I was not expecting it to be as soft as it was not knowing what a product made from seaweed would be like. I found it to be very comfortable to wear. It fit me well and was the right size for me. It’s easy to layer both underneath and on top and its neutral color made it very easy to coordinate with many other colors or fabrics. It never smelled despite continuous use, and it was easy to clean as well. This will be a sweater that will be easy to wear in different climate zones, and to wear for many years. I recommend this sweater to anybody who is concerned regarding sustainability, made in USA and those that want to simplify their wardrobe.

I've been frustrated with the quality of clothing I've purchased online before--it often wears out after a year of wear. Holes appear randomly; it's quite frustrating. I was definitely looking for better quality clothing, and the sweater I bought is definitely it. I was surprised that the sweater held up so well after repeated wearing; my experience with re-wearing clothes that's right next to the skin has not generally been pleasant until this sweater came along! And I would recommend OC sweaters to anyone looking for clothing that's versatile in the wardrobe and comfortable on the body!

I love the sweater. Even though it’s winter here in CT I am wearing it a lot! It looks great and is so comfortable. I haven’t washed it yet but I’m hopeful that it will wash as advertised. I am being careful because I wonder about getting it stained (like when I cook!) and it was a lot more than I pay for a regular sweater. I really like what your company stands for (sustainability etc) so I was willing to pay more for it. I do wonder though if you didn’t have it come in that tote bag whether you could make it the price a little less. I also wish that sustainable clothing weren’t only open to people who have enough money to pay for it. I am a retired teacher and I have many teacher friends who could never afford your sweaters. Just a thought.

I chose this SeaCell due to its ability to travel well, requirements for washing, and ability to layer with it. I found it layers well with pants, leggings, and skirts. It was perfect for my 3 week trip, but I tested it prior in activities with granddaughter, work environment and cooking in the kitchen. It did not absorb odors, stains came out easily and looked fresh after weeks of not washing. Have some concern about pilling on the front. Will do another wash and see how it looks. I loved the sweaters ability to breathe. It really is classic and hope to wear it consistently to work

I found this sweater to be very comfortable. It has a soft texture and after wearing a few days it does relax but retains its shape. I tend to push my sleeves up my arms and even so, though the cuffs relaxed the do not feel overly loose. After washing it returns to its original weave. I have pets and though hair clings as hair does, the sweater did not seem to attract it and I never noticed any static with this sweater.

Clothes shopping is very frustrating for me. I’m very small and petite, so I chose this size based on my measurements the best I could. The sleeves were a bit tight but the shirt itself is a bit big. This could be because of my sizing though. And the length is perfect. Overall I’m very happy with this shirt, it works great in lots of different outfits i put together, can be worn comfortably on a warm or cool day, looks really nice worn by itself, and, it’s made of seaweed! Slowly phasing out any plastic and polyester clothing. With that said, I work from home so I was concerned with taking captivating and exciting photos. I didnt want them to come off too boring (PLUS i was sick for a few days!! So I wanted to take much more exciting shots but I did what I could. The important thing was to show folks the shirt, the fit after so many days, how it felt etc). Also, it took a while because i was able to get to my post office to pick up the shirt. I don’t get mail to my house so i probably started this several days after the shirt was actually delivered.

The sweater is a beautiful color. It is extremely comfortable but also looks very polished. I thought the size was possibly a smidge smaller than other XLs I've tried but I still felt like it was flattering and not too tight. I love the sustainability of this brand and I hope to be wearing this sweater for many years to come.

The sand dollar color goes with EVERYTHING. I can wear this sweater with leggings, shorts, jeans, skirts. Very versatile. The unisex small was a relaxed fit on me, which fit the style of the sweater. A women's small is typically form fitting on me.
The words "summer sweater" sound counterintuitive to me. But I do like to wear long sleeves when I'm out in the sun, and air conditioning often chills me when I'm in short sleeves. So I decided to give it a go. Here's what surprised me about the sweater:
- it does not show dirt
- it wicks sweat really well in hot temperatures
- it goes with practically everything I own

Glad I went up one size, but the feel is fantastic. I am very picky about texture so was very happy. Since i got covid the day before I received it, it was like wearing a soft hug. Wore it with either jeans or black pants. I love the fact that it is made with kelp (great conversation starter) and that it is made in the US.

SeaCell fibers are smooth, unlike wool. The silky fibers don't irritate sensitive skin. SeaCell is efficient at moving sweat and moisture away from your body, discouraging bacteria growth that causes skin irritation.
Organic cotton is also very soft when compared to other natural materials. The fibers are very fine, ranging between 11 and 22 microns. For reference, Yak wool ranges from 14-19 microns.
Our materials, SeaCell and organic cotton, are both remarkably sustainable. We can replace plastic-based synthetic fibers with these materials; together, they are soft, abundant, and strong.
Unlike plastic polyester, SeaCell and organic cotton are made from regenerative resources and 100% biodegradable.
In addition to using 91% less water than conventionally-grown cotton, organic cotton requires 62% less energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42%.
Further, the lack of pesticides decreases waterway pollution by 26% and the chances of acid rain by 70%.
The seaweed used to make SeaCell is a strain found in the Icelandic fjords and northern Atlantic.
Harvesting in the Icelandic fjords means there is no pollution and waste from ship traffic, so the seaweed is extremely clean and without pollutants.
Local Icelandic sea farmers gently harvest the abundant seaweed beds once every 4 years using large floating conveyor belts that remove the tops of the plants.
The harvesting process ensures that each bed can naturally regenerate without disrupting the ecosystem. Solely trimming the upper portion of the marine plant also encourages healthy growth, like cutting the split ends of our hair.
Once cut in Iceland, it’s transported to manufacturing facilities in Austria. The seaweed is entirely untreated, retaining all its natural properties.
Our sweaters are made in Brooklyn, New York by Tailored Industry. We work with them to create our sweaters through a new manufacturing process called WHOLEGARMENT® 3D-knitting.
We chose Tailored Industry vs. other WHOLEGARMENT® manufacturers in part because of their brand vision. They want to become a platform for on-demand knitwear. We're hoping we can grow together, create all kinds of custom sizes, and eventually remove the need for inventory completely.
No! In fact, you can probably skip the spa after wearing a SeaCell summer sweater because the natural vitamins and minerals of the seaweed will soothe and protect you from harmful free radicals and damaging UV rays.
Yes! Simply machine wash your sweater with the rest of your clothes. It will not shrink on a normal cycle.
